Frequently Asked Questions
Are you the SA Human Rights Commission?
No we are not. We are a private business that helps people compile their Section 51 documents in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act.
The SA Human Rights Commission says that submission is free. Why are you charging me?
The easiest way to answer this is to compare us to an Accountant. If you do your own tax returns it is completely free to do so. SARS does not charge you to submit your tax-return. To avoid mistakes you can hire an accountant to complete your tax returns for you, for which he charges you a small fee. This is exactly how we work. The fee we charge is to compile the documentation on your behalf.
I work with a lot of small businesses & entrepreneurs, not ONCE have a heard of this before … why?
The SAHRC is incredibly short staffed and unable to deal with creating awareness as well as processing registrations. This was one of the main reasons the Minister gave them an extension from 2005 to 2011. The SAHRC has relied on other agencies to create awareness but it has always been considered a low priority.
Why do I need to register with the Human Rights commission? I’m not quite sure what this has to do with human rights
The SAHRC is known as the custodian of rights in this country. The Government chose them because they are independent of Government. It’s a reaction against Apartheid to promote transparency in the new democracy.
If this is about Access to Information … what business information does the government need to know about me?
Government requires only basic information, like contact details, physical and postal address, etc.
Do even Sole Proprietors need to register?
Yes, even Sole-Proprietors. In fact even if you run a flea-market stall from your car boot you’re required to register.
How much does this cost, do I have to use Total Compliance?
You do not have to register with Total Compliance. There are many agencies who can register you with the SAHRC and their fees range anywhere up to R3000 for the registration. Total Compliance charges a once-off fee or R350.00

Your bank details is in the name of T. Seifart. Why?
We changed the name of our business towards the end of 2011 and we are still waiting for CIPC to provide us with our new company documents. The banks won't allow us to open an account without the right documents and because of the major deadline, we decided to use "The Boss"'s personal account. Our accountant will track the payments to make sure everything is in order.
Why are your credit card fees billed in US Dollars?
We use Paypal.com to administer our Credit Card sales. Currently, Paypal.com does not support ZAR, and so we have selected $47 as the nearest closest amount to R350.00. As a result of fluctuating exchange rates and bank fees, the fee that you will be charged may be slightly more than R350.00.
